Smart Progress Bar Is Needed

Some of the images in this blog has reflect effect. I used www.ReflectionMaker.com. Easy and simple steps to add reflect effect in image. But as my net speed is slow, I often get uncertain. I don't know how much it has processed and how much remaining. The progress bar is shown in this way:

Round shape progress bar (animated gif) cycles and cycles, even if there is no net connection. But a numeric progress indication (e.g. 22% done) could help much.

Even when I was writing this blog, my net was slow and I was not able to upload immediate above image. blogspot was showing this (actually it was not successful to upload the image)

On the other hand gmail's mail attachment progress bar is very helpful. Because it is not animated gif and  it is not fake. Gmails attachment progress bar is much more helpful to know whether it is at all uploading or not and can guess how much uploaded.

So, progress bar should not just an animated gif but it should be a smart progress bar. Every website/web application should avoid using animated gif progress bar and rather it should show smart progress bar. Smart progress bar helps end user a lot.

Toilet paper holder should not be just below the shower

I've not visited much countries but in my country I've seen many old and modern houses where toilet paper holder is fixed/setup just below the shower, in toilet/bathroom of course.

New in Gmail Labs: Nested Labels has problems

Gmail has released a new lab on 8th April 2010 on 'Nested Labels'. I was in need of something like this as I had around 150 labels and it was increasing almost everyday. But the way Gmail lab provided, it was not a good way to me. You can read there original post here New in Labs: Nested Labels and Message Sneak Peek Gmail has used slashes (/) to make a label the children of another label. Problem is I had several labels/tags with slash already. Gmail could have designed the lab in different way (I mean, without using slash).

Not only that. When I rearranged some of the labels as child, it did not update my filters immediately (where I used those labels) and also did not update filters in my multiple inbox.

It also has problem with not showing parent label. If by mistake your parent label is marked as 'hidden' the children labels are not shown correctly.

Here Parent label 'Goal' is hidden.

Finally, I wanted a feature like this but somehow this Lab could not satisfy me. :(

Image less contact confuses me

In facebook if you search friends you'll get friend list along with thumb image next to it. The thumb image helps you lot if there are friends with same name. e.g. see this image:

Here I searched with 'Moni' and it listed down two 'Monirul Islam'. As there are thumb images with each Monirul Islam, I can identify who is who.

But this same facebook does not show thumb image when I'm going to share something with my friends. See this image:

FaceBook's suggestion is not correct

I frequently get friend add suggestion from facebook. In the given image, the colored person is in my add friend suggestion list. I followed direction on how to add but it always shows me that she has too many friends and cannot accept new friend request.
